Lili is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, researcher and academic, Lili designs 3D printed, handmade and wheel thrown ceramic objects that are made with high artisanal craft. Her philosophy that focuses on presence and intention permeates the spaces her works occupy for slow and mindful living. Inspired by its potential as a universally accessible and versatile material, LYT transforms clay through a ‘feel-first’ approach. A self-taught ceramicist, founder Lili Yas Tayefi marries a detailed eye for aesthetics with scientific technology-driven research. With a specialization in Material Science and Robotic Fabrication, Lili works between design, research and product development. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Visual Studies, Fine Arts, Master’s in Advanced Architecture, and a postgraduate in Large Scale 3D Printing of Earthen Architecture. Balancing these oppositional qualities of artistic expression, technical precision and innovation with ease creates works of provenance.
