Hi Tech Productions is first and foremost a lighting, sound, Audio / Visual and experiential DJ company.  It is a family run business that has been in operation for more than 25 years.  We believe in using green technology, challenging the status quo with event lighting design and pushing the boundaries of technology with our effects.  We also happen to have award winning DJs and designers on staff.  Simply put, we love what we do. We are backed by pure passion.

Hi Tech was recently awarded Best DJ and AV Service in Calgary by avenue Magazine the last 3 years in a row, nominated for best DJ and AV Service for 2023 (awaiting results), Best DJ company in 2021 and 2022 by Global wedding awards, #1 company from Best three rated for DJ companies in Airdrie and around Calgary 4 years in a row and have more real 5 star google reviews than any other DJ company in western Canada.  

Our Past:

Hi Tech originated as a part time hobby in 1992.  Starting from the bottom, making his own light fixtures, light controllers, playing music from cassette tapes & carrying boxes full of CDs, owner, Dan McNeil used DJing to put himself through university starting a career in Electrical Engineering.  In 2008 Dan left the corporate sector to pursue a full-time passion in Event Production, registering Hi Tech Productions as a company in Alberta in 2008.  That year Hi Tech started with 26 events, the following year 250 and by 2019 they had completed just over 1400 events annually.  A large percentage of these events comprised of weddings.  

Hi Tech Productions is a trend setting production and Entertainment Company with a main focus on creating experiences. The company was the first in Canada to introduce Vinyl Video VJs, the first in Canada to introduce projection mapped wedding cakes, the first in western Canada to add the emulator holographic DJ system to its arsenal, and the first in the world to develop an emulator DJ system that can play music videos.  Hi Tech has been recently featured on CTV's cross Canada show "The Social" for wedding tech trends and Dan was nominated last year for the artist of the year award at the Airdrie Mayor's Night of the Arts.
