The Hemingway Room, the Perfect Event Space

It all started with an idea to give back to the Calgary community, an idea to celebrate love amongst all the hardship. Bring together some of Calgary’s most artistic and dedicated event professionals, a loved-up couple, and a delicious event space, and you’ve got the ingredients for a prize photo shoot.

Jena and Riz entered to win a paid photo shoot in The Hemingway Room, a unique event venue at the Ramsay Design Centre in Calgary. After a difficult 2020, due to COVID-19 and a serious car accident, it was an opportunity for positivity that they really needed. It was also the perfect way to celebrate their love and resilience while commemorating five years together.

The Venue

This photo shoot was all about love, and the ideal space to highlight the dreamy couple was The Hemingway Room. If you like unique, this space is for you. The Hemingway Room is an adaptable, modern, industrial-chic space that can be glammed up or dressed down. With its exposed brick, rustic vibes and romantic chandeliers, Jena and Riz immediately fell in love with the space.

The Team

With the support of the events community in Calgary, Jena and Riz celebrated their love in style. Local service providers donated time, resources, and products to create a picture-perfect photo shoot. Setting a scene for any event can be tricky, but the team of experts curated a final product that accentuated the personality of the couple and the dramatic features of the space.

Flowers were turned into masterpieces by Creative Edge. Bright green foliage and blooms bursting with colour provided the perfect frame while furniture and candles added to the ambiance. The ‘pièce de résistance’ were the floral draped chandeliers. Finishing touches were put in place by Chair Flair Linen Rentals and Event Decor. Highlighted amongst the works of art was the happy couple, comfortable, beaming and enjoying the special day.

The Main Event

With the couple glammed and The Hemingway Room dressed to the nines, Tess Lucas of TLCreative prepared to record the day. Trusting fully in Tess’ capabilities, Jena and Riz relaxed into the shoot. You can tell how comfortable they were by checking out how the incredible photos turned out. Even better, they had fun!
